Prague : A place only we know

Prague Bird View

Prague is a destination that symbolises vogue and romance. It has been on the romantic map for a long time and the crowds show no signs of abating. It took me and my boyfriend 4 days to get to know Prague. It meant a lot for us. I’m going to talk about the first day we stayed there.

It was snowing when I got up from the hotel in Prague after the first night there. Everything sank into a fairy story. With that view, Prague is a gorgeous, clear, full of cinnamon smell and a sink of romance city. By the way, the day was my birthday.

Charles Bridge

The place I stayed was quite near to Charles Bridge, which was the most beautiful place I thought in Prague. Crossing the Vltava, it was the most attractive spot for the strangers to enjoy the view of the city river. There were many artists as well, painting and playing instrument. I also shot a small video of a four-man band, playing the relax music with violin and French horn. Statues on the bridge represented the historic events, mostly erected between 1683 and 1714, of the old city. Hanging around on this gothic bridge day and night, I fancied for the views both sunrise and sunset brought in.

Prague Castle

Prague Castle is the official residence and office of the president of Czech Republic. What was special of this official building was that the tourists could have a bird’s-eye view of the whole old Prague. Moreover, when it came to the Castle, what attracted me the most was Guard Changing. Differing from the Buckingham Palace one, the guards seemed to be willing to interact with the tourists and their cameras with no faces. My boyfriend just wondered if they were trained by humours. So, go and interact with them, trying to make them laugh, and you’ll never win.

Old Town Square

It was taken by Christmas Market when I went to the old town square. The whole square consisted of brightly decorated wooden huts selling traditional handicrafts such as jewellery, wooden toys, scented candles and pretty dolls dressed in traditional costumes. More than shopping, I preferred to try some local food and drink. As mentioned above, the city was full of cinnamon smell, particular here. The local seemed to fancy for moldy wine with cinnamon taste. People ate pork what was just cut from the roast shelf and sausages from the grill pan. Crowds of pigeons, even more and stronger than those in Britain, were coming to wait for the food people left as well. What a busy and wonderful market it was!

Prague was the first place we celebrated my birthday outside the China. The romantic snow and fairy-like city changed me into a princess, who was full of warm-hearted happiness. People in Czech Republic are hospitable and impassioned and girls are hot, comparing with other places in the European countries. For me and my boyfriend, Prague was the place that only we knew and belonged to us forever.
